South Woodham Ferrers United FC Youth Football

Introduction

South Woodham Ferrers United Football Club proudly presents our Youth Football program, designed for players from Under 11s through to Under 18s. Our program emphasises skill development, teamwork, and a deep passion for the game. Training sessions occur on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with matches scheduled for Sunday. This is where players can elevate their football experience and continue their journey from Mini Football to more advanced levels.

Progression from Mini to Youth Football

Transitioning from Mini Football to Youth Football is an exciting phase. Players advancing from our Mini Football program (Under 7 to Under 11) are well-prepared for the challenges of Youth Football. This transition builds upon the skills learned in Mini Football, introducing more complex techniques, strategies, and the opportunity for enhanced competition.

Leagues We Play In

Our Youth Football teams compete in a range of leagues, ensuring a competitive yet supportive environment for all players:

  • Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League
  • South East Essex Primary League
  • Brentwood Community Football Alliance League
  • Southend Junior League

Players compete in different formats based on their age group:

  • Under 11s and Under 12s: 9v9 format
  • Under 13s to Under 18s: 11v11 format

Meet Our Coaches

Our Youth Football program is led by qualified FA coaches who are dedicated to nurturing young talent. They bring a wealth of experience and passion to their roles, ensuring that each player receives high-quality training tailored to their development stage.

We also have a dedicated team of volunteers who assist with coaching, administration, and event organisation. Their support is crucial in creating a positive and enriching environment for all our players.

We encourage parents to get involved in our Youth Football program. Whether it’s helping out at training sessions, organizing events, or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement is greatly appreciated. The club offers support and funding opportunities for parents who wish to volunteer.

Everybody’s Game

Continued Friendship Groups
Our Youth Football program fosters the growth of friendships that extend beyond the football field. As players advance through the age groups, they continue to build and maintain strong bonds with their teammates. We believe that these lasting friendships are a key part of the football experience, contributing to both personal growth and team cohesion.

Club Events
We host a variety of events throughout the year to bring our community together and celebrate our achievements including the Annual Presentation Day, Club Tournament and a Chriatmas Ball for parents.

Fostering Team Spirit
We place a strong emphasis on building team spirit within our Youth Football program. Through collaborative training sessions, team-building activities, and supportive match environments, we encourage players to work together, support one another, and develop a strong sense of unity. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every player feels valued and motivated, both as an ndividual and as part of the team.

At South Woodham Ferrers United FC, football is about more than just the game. It’s about growing together, celebrating successes, and building a supportive community. Join us to be part of a program where friendships are nurtured, team spirit thrives, and every player is given the opportunity to excel.
