Club History
South Woodham Ferrers United is an amateur youth football club located in Essex. The club prides itself on prioritising football for all and being at the heart of the community. With over 30 youth teams, four men’s teams, and development squads for 3 to 6-year-olds, the club is committed to providing opportunities for players of all ages and genders. As a volunteer-run organisation, the club aims to enhance its community focus, financial stability, and create a clear pathway for players to progress from youth to senior teams. Additionally, the club has plans to move to a new clubhouse in the next five years to facilitate its growth and aspirations.
Formed in 2016 following the merger of three local clubs, South Woodham Ferrers United (SWFU) has grown into one of the largest grass roots football clubs in Essex. SWFU aim to provide football for all people across the community from youngsters enjoying our development squad on aSaturday morning, through the school years with both girls’ and boys’ sides at every age group and finally our Saturday and Sunday adult teams.

SWFU is situated in South Woodham Ferrers, a small town in the borough if Chelmsford with a population of around 16,500 people.
